CLI-42 Cartridges with ARC (Auto Reset Chips)
These cartridges include auto reset chips (ARC), which automatically reset the cartridges so the printer will detect them as full every time you refill them. No separate resetting device is needed, and you don’t need to worry about a cartridge being low on ink! When its time to refill a cartridge, your printer software will automatically pop up a notice letting you know.

Instructions: How to Refill Canon Pro 100 CLI-42 Ink Cartridges!
Refilling these CLI-42 cartridges is very easy. Simply remove the plug on top of the cartridge and fill ink through that hole. You will need an ink syringe or other nozzle to transfer ink from your ink bottle to the cartridges. Fill slowly and let ink fully saturate the sponge compartment. Once the CLI-42 cartridge is full of ink, just pop the plug back in and the cartridge is ready to install back in your printer as normal! On these cartridges each time you re-insert the cartridge back into the printer, it will automatically reset the ink levels. The printer will read the cartridge as full again and you’ll be ready to keep printing!
